SOUTH SUMATRA

     South Sumatra is a province of Indonesia, located in the southern part of Sumatra Island. The province capital in Palembang. Geographically, South Sumatra province bordering Jambi province in the north, the province of Kep. Bangka-Belitung in the east, in the southern province of Lampung and Bengkulu province in the west. The province is rich in natural resources, such as petroleum, natural gas and coal. Besides the provincial capital of South Sumatra, Palembang, has been famous since the first because it had become the capital of the kingdom of Srivijaya.
      In addition, the province has many tourist destinations of interest to visit such as the Musi River, Bridge Ampera, Kemaro Island, Lake Ranau, Kota Pagaralam and others. SOUTH SUMATRA TOURISM REGIONS 



SITUS SRIWIJAYA 
     Located in the village Karang Anyar district,West Ilir Palembang. The inscription tells of two army laksa Srijayanasa build Wanua Srivijaya in the Year 606 Saka (684 AD) at the foot of Mount Siguntang.



BUKIT SIGUNTANG PARK 
     Located in the west of Palembang. This place is a hill area, where there are several tombs, among others: King of The Nature dither, Dadar Flower Princess, Princess Hair Selako, Commander of the Great Yellow, Coral Great Commander, Commander Sir Junjungan, Prince of Fire King of the Rock and Commander Jago Lawang.




AMPERA BRIDGE AND MUSI RIVER
     Is a landmark for the city of Palembang. Ampera Bridge was built in 1962-1965, across the Musi Riverand connects the Ilir and Ulu Palembang. Since the 1970's the middle of this bridge can no longer be appointed by the consideration would cause long traffic jams. Musi River is the longest and largest river inSouth Sumatra Province, with a length of 406 Km. Palembang distance to river mouth in the Strait of Bangka± 106 km.
